It was a demanding morning at the JSDSA home ground — two gruelling hours of football that ultimately saw a more experienced Don Skimah FC side prove the difference. Our young squad gave everything they had, but on the day, it just wasn't enough against opponents of greater experience and firepower.

Final Score

JSDSA 2 – 4 Don Skimah FC. A tough defeat but lessons taken.

Duration

Two full hours of competitive football — the boys ran every minute.

Tactical Effort

The lads tried to play to instructions — a positive sign of growth.

Spirit

Never stopped competing. Character shown throughout despite the scoreline.

Don Skimah FC — established since 1997 — brought experience that showed at key moments. Where our boys tried to execute the game plan, small individual errors proved costly against a side that knew exactly how to take advantage. This is the reality of development football: mistakes at this level are part of the learning curve, but against seasoned opponents, they carry a higher price.

The encouraging sign is that the intent was there. The squad is listening, absorbing the coaching, and attempting to put instructions into practice on the pitch. That foundation is what the staff will build on through the week ahead.

The Positives to Take

The boys played to instructions and showed genuine effort throughout. Mistakes were made — but they were the mistakes of a young side still developing, not a side that gave up. Errors were identified and will be addressed. The Ijebu Premier League is just around the corner, and every session between now and then is an opportunity to improve.

After two gruelling hours of football, our lads couldn't match the superior firepower of the opponents. Even though our young lads gave what they could, it just wasn't good enough today. The positive to take from this encounter is the fact that the boys tried to play to instructions — and made a few mistakes in the process — and these were duly punished by our more experienced opponents. Work resumes on Monday.

The academy's approach has always been one of long-term development over short-term results. Defeats like this — against experienced, established clubs — are part of the journey. The Ijebu Premier League begins in June, and the squad will be better prepared for it having gone through these tests.

Training resumes Monday morning. The work continues.

With the Ijebu Premier League draw to be announced and the competition kicking off on Sunday, 7th June 2026, the coming weeks are critical. The squad will return to training on Monday with a clear focus on eliminating the errors that have been costly in recent friendlies.

We also continue to work towards the three match videos requested by our collaborating licensed agent based in Norway, who is expected to visit the academy in September 2026. Every game matters — and every improvement made between now and the league start will count.
