1 — 3 Second Half (JSDSA won the half)

Wednesday's friendly against Debash FC at the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium was a match of two very distinct halves — and it showed exactly the kind of character that this group of players is made of.

The first half was a difficult one. JSDSA conceded four goals and managed just one in reply, leaving the team with a mountain to climb at the interval. But what happened next was nothing short of remarkable.

The boys came out in the second half transformed. Three goals in the second period — winning that half 3–1 — brought the scoreline to 5–4 and put the equaliser tantalisingly within reach. In the end, that final goal just wouldn't come, but the effort, the belief, and the refusal to give up were there for all to see.

1st Half

Tough start. Conceded 4, scored 1. Work to do at the break.

2nd Half

JSDSA won the half 3–1. Real character shown when it mattered.

Fighting Spirit

Came within a whisker of equalising at 5–5. Never stopped pushing.

The Takeaway

Areas to improve — but this team knows how to fight back.

The result was not what we came for, but the story of this match is not the scoreline — it's the response. Falling 4–1 behind at half-time and then battling back to 5–4, nearly snatching a draw in the dying moments, tells you a great deal about the mentality being built at JSDSA.

Our players should absolutely be praised for fighting to the very end. The second half showed what is possible when the focus and intensity are right. We know the areas that need improvement and that work continues every single day on the training pitch.

The match was of two halves — the first half was poor, but the second was much better. Our players should be praised for fighting to the very end and just missing equalising by a whisker's breadth! We go again on Saturday. Thanks very much for all the support.

We continue the work. We continue to develop. And we remain grateful for every bit of support that comes our way — it means everything to this group.

The squad returns to the pitch on Saturday for another match. With the lessons of Wednesday fresh in mind and the coaching staff's continued focus on development, we expect another step forward. Follow the blog and stay close — there's a lot more to come from JSDSA in the weeks ahead.

A reminder that we are also preparing three match videos for our collaborating licensed agent based in Norway, who is expected to visit the academy in September 2026. These upcoming fixtures carry added significance.
